The productronica trade fair is traditionally one of the most important trade fairs for the German laser specialist.One focus will be on in-house rapid PCB prototyping.
With systems and processes from LPKF, even complex, multi-layer printed circuit boards can be built in a single day in your own laboratory, without your confidential data ever leaving your company premises. LPKF is presenting the first new system in this area: the ProtoLaser U3 follows its successful predecessor and shines with a decisive innovation. It structures circuitry layouts directly on laminated materials such as FR4. It displays its high beam quality as a UV laser system and can perfectly geometrically structure fine conductors with a 100m pitch, based on 70m / 30micro;m line / space.
This laboratory system thus combines the functions of the ProtoLasers S and U and delivers even finer processing results.The new generation laser processing system MicroLine 6000 is being announced for the first quarter of 2012. Findings from research and development groups and feedback from practical experience have been integrated into the machine layout. The modifications made, such as to the terminal, enhance the accessibility of the individual components. The vision system was completely reworked for even better cutting results and a flexible new lighting unit was integrated. A modified structure of the optical components increases the laser output on the material and at the same time allows monitoring of the cutting.
Finally, LPKF is presenting a mirror system that automatically compensates for every deviation from the ideal position.The third innovation concerns the patented LDS technology (laser direct structuring). The LPKF Fusion3D 1100, introduced in spring, is now being complemented by the Fusion3D 1500. The Fusion3D 1500 comes with linear handling which is optimized for structuring of long components ? even large antennas can be attached to existing components. This technology is currently in demand for notebook and tablet PCs and builds on the successes of smart phone antennas. For use in serial production, this system can be equipped with a multiple-head controller. Then up to three processing heads take over the structuring and provide for short cycle times. In addition, LPKF is also showcasing other laser technologies in detail such as the StencilLaser and will have experts on hand to discuss all aspects of laser technology.
